Replacing Level Switch For Engine Oil (Z3, M54)

Turn off ignition.
Release oil filter cap so that engine oil from oil filter can flow back into oil pan.







Release screws.
Remove cruciform reinforcement (1).
Remove underbody paneling.
Drain engine oil.







Disconnect plug connection (1).
Release nuts (2).
Remove level switch (3).

Installation:
Clean sealing surface on oil sump and replace level switch seal.

Installation:
Fill system with engine oil.
Resecure oil filter cap.

Tightening Torque, full flow oil filter cover.
M8 22 Nm
M10 33 Nm
M12 33 Nm
Screw on cover (all) 25 Nm
