Installing Replacement Transmission


Installing exchange transmission (S6S 420G)
Drain off gear oil from old transmission.

Catch and dispose of emerging gear oil.

Recycling:
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Caution: After 2000 km it is absolutely essential to carry out a breaking-in inspection including an oil change.


Transmission must be filled with Lifetime oil.

Remove transmission.

Convert following components of old transmission to new transmission:
- Release bearing and release lever
- Dowel pin for slave cylinder
- Reversing light switch.
- Retainers for oxygen sensor cable
- Transmission breather cap (in acc. with sticker on transmission)





Convert shift rod joint.
Slide back snap ring (1) and drive out dowel pin (2).





Note: Check damping disk (6) for damage and replace if necessary.
