Subject
Display is making permanent resets.

Complaint
Display is switching back and forth between the BMW logo and a black display screen.

Affected vehicles:
E60 (5 Series with CCC), E63/E64 (6 Series)

Cause
CCC (Car Communication Computer) is blocked in a reset cycle.

Fault code "A3E4 fault in file system" is stored in the CCC-BO fault memory.

Measure
On a customer complaint basis only, replace the CCC.

After replacement, reprogram the vehicle with CIP16.1 or a later version. Follow procedure "Programming and Coding" outlined in SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization, Programming (CIP), Procedure A).
