Electronic Brake Control Module: Service and Repair


Removing And Installing/Replacing DSC Control Unit

Note: Before removing DSC control unit, read out fault memory and if necessary print out diagnostic trouble code.





Detach water reservoir (1) and place to one side.





Unlock plug connection (1) in direction (2).

Vertically disconnect plug connection (1) in direction (3) upwards.

Installation:
Position plug connection (1) vertically on control module in order to avoid damaging pins.
Lock plug connection (1).





Release screws (1) and detach control unit (2) from hydraulic unit.

Installation:
Always use new screws.





Check sealing face (1) for damage (visual inspection).

Clean sealing surface (1).

When doing so, do not use tools with sharp edges or aggressive cleaning agents.

Check contact lugs (2) for corrosion or damage.

Note: Replace hydraulic unit if sealing surface (1) or contact lugs (2) is/are damaged.





Carefully push control module (1) onto hydraulic unit (2).

Make sure solenoid coils are not tilted.





Housing edge of control unit (1) must slide over shoulder on hydraulic unit (2).





Mount control unit as follows on hydraulic unit:
- Press control unit onto hydraulic unit.
- Insert screws (1) and (2) (do not tighten down) until control unit rests evenly.
- Insert screws (36) (do not tighten down).
- Tighten down screws (16) in specified sequence.
Pressure sensor "V" and "H" to master brake cylinder 25 Nm
Pressure Sensor to hydraulic unit
(E65/E66) 19 Nm
NOTE: Only with special tool 34 1 290
