Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair




13 62 560 - Removing and installing/replacing air-mass flow sensor (M54)





Important!
Make sure your hands are clean.
Avoid contamination by lubricants and greases that contain oil.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out DME fault memory.





Unlock and detach plug connection (1).
Loosen screws (2).
Remove HFM sensor (3) in direction of arrow.





Important!
Grip HFM sensor (1) in upper area only.

Installation Note:
Pay attention to retaining groove (2).
Check sealing ring (3) for damage and replace if necessary.
Check NTC pellet (4) for contamination and damage.





Important!
Avoid contamination of flange geometry (2) by lubricants containing oil and foreign bodies (dust).

Installation Note:
Pay attention to locating pin (1).





Assemble engine.
Check function of DME.
