SUBJECT
MS45.1 Fault Codes 2882, 2883 - Mixture is too Lean

E60
SITUATION
The "Check Engine Light" may be illuminated on E60 vehicles with either the M54B25 or M54B30 engines produced up to 3/05. Fault Code 2882 and / or 2883, mixture too lean, is stored.
CAUSE
DME software calibration error.
CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis only, perform the repair procedure as described below.
PROCEDURE
Perform basic diagnosis and troubleshooting, for mixture related faults, per the test plan. If no problems are found, reprogram the vehicle using CIP 19.1 (Target Data Status E060-05-09-530), or higher.
