SITUATION
^ A message, "BMW Assist Inactive", is displayed on the Central Information Display (CID), on the Control Display (CD), on the radio, or as a check control message.
^ The customer was sent a letter stating that the vehicle was affected by Service Action 00 84 31 01 00 (SI B84 22 06 or B84 23 06).
CAUSE
The Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) within the Network Access Device (NAD) may have been corrupted.
PROCEDURE FOR E46, E53, E83 AND E85 VEHICLES:
Check the integrity of the NAD by using the procedure outlined in SI B84 24 06.
PROCEDURE FOR E60, E61, E63, E64, E65, E66, E90 AND E91 VEHICLES:
Check the integrity of the NAD by using the procedure outlined in SI B84 25 06.
