Important!

Note:
Follow instructions for removing and installing control units.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory
- Disconnect battery negative lead 61 20 900 Disconnecting and Connecting Negative Battery Cable





Picture shows the left side, the procedure for the right side is identical.
Lever expander rivets (1) out of cover (2).

Installation Note:
If necessary, replace damaged expander rivets.
Make sure holders (3) are correctly seated.





Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 12 90 4AZ [1][2]Central Electronics Box.
Release retainer (2).
Remove cover (3) from supplementary electronics box.





Unclip grommet holding-down element (1).
Release rubber grommets (2) from supplementary electronics box.

Installation Note:
Make sure grommets are correctly seated (watertightness).

Release carrier plate (3) from lower section of supplementary electronics box (5) and place to one side.

Release screw (4).
Tightening torque 12 90 2AZ [1][2]Central Electronics Box.
Remove lower section of supplementary electronics box (5) towards front.
