Ignition Timing: Adjustments

1. Shift the transaxle to "N" (Neutral).
2. With the engine running and at operating temperature, verify that the "Check Engine Light" is not on.
3. Ground the ALCL Diagnostic Test Terminals (A to B) located on the lower edge of the instrument panel on the right side of the steering column. The "Check Engine Light" will come on.
4. Set ignition timing to 15° by loosening the distributor until the specification is obtained.
5. Tighten the distributor clamp bolt and recheck timing to make sure distributor was not moved during tightening of the bolt.
6. Remove ground from ALCL connector.


NOTE: Timing MUST be set to specifications on emission label if different from setting listed. If "Check Engine" light comes on during procedure, remove ECM fuse to clear.
