Valve Spring: Service and Repair

1. Remove rocker arm cover, then the spark plug.
2. Remove rocker arm and pushrod.
3. Install air line adapter tool No. J-23590 or equivalent to spark plug port and apply compressed air to hold valves in place.
4. Using valve spring compressor tool No. J-5892 or equivalent, compress valve spring and disassemble valve assembly.
5. Remove valve stem oil seal.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. When assembling valve assembly, use plastic seat provided and press over valve guide boss.
b. If necessary, use grease to retain valve locks.
