Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
-----Continued from Pulling Diagnostic CodesSelection of the "CLEAR CODES?" test type will result in either the message "CODES CLEAR" or "X NOT CLEAR" being displayed, indicating wether the codes were successfully cleared. This message will appear for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds the display will automatically return to the next available test type for the selected system.
NOTICE: After a code has been cleared, a complete ignition cycle (and possible test drive) should be made, and then recheck for the code to ensure the code does not reset.
NOTICE: SIR Code 51 (RO51) cannot be cleared without the use of a ALDL scan tool. Consult "Supplemental Inflatable Restraints" for diagnosis and proper procedure to clear code. Restraints and Safety Systems
