GM Oil Life System Resetting

Resetting Procedure

Follow this procedure to reset the GM Oil Life System (TM):

1. Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds.
The oil life indicator will begin to flash. This indicates the system is resetting.
3. Turn the key to OFF, then start the vehicle. The oil change light will illuminate for bulb check and then go out, and stay out. If the light remains on repeat the procedure.
