Brake Rotor Replacement

Removal Procedure

^ Tools Required
- A Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit

1. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
2. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement (Front) or Brake Caliper Replacement (Rear).
3. Support the caliper assembly away from the rotor.
4. Remove the brake caliper bracket from the vehicle. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement.
5. Remove the brake rotor.

Installation Procedure

Important: Whenever the rotor has been separated from the wheel bearing flange, clean any rust or contaminants from the wheel bearing flange and the brake rotor mating surfaces. Failure to do this may result in increased lateral runout of the rotor, and brake pulsation.

1. Use the J 42450-A in order to clean the mating surfaces on the wheel bearing flange and the rotor.
2. Install the rotor over the wheel studs onto the wheel bearing flange.
3. Install the brake caliper bracket assembly. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement.
4. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement (Front) or Brake Caliper Replacement (Rear).
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
