The IPM energizes the

Close the defroster door

Position the A/C door to direct air through the heater outlets

Direct a small amount of air through the windshield outlets
The IPM energizes the air mix actuators to:

Determine the proper air discharge temperatures
^
Position the air mix valves accordingly
