Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

EVAPORATOR CORE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Service and Repair
2. Remove the seal from around the heater core and the evaporator tubes.
3. Remove the upper HVAC evaporator case.




4. Remove the evaporator core.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Fill the evaporator with the proper amount of refrigerant oil. Refer to Refrigerant Oil Distribution.
2. Install the evaporator core into the module housing.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the upper HVAC evaporator case.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).




4. Install the seal over the heater core and the evaporator pipes.
5. Install the HVAC assembly.
