P/S Pressure Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the steering gear heatshield.
3. Remove the power steering hose retainer from the engine frame at gear.
4. Remove the power steering hose from the steering gear.
5. Drain the power steering fluid.





6. Disconnect the power steering line at the power steering pump.
7. Remove the power steering line from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the hoses in place.





2. Install the power steering line to the pump.
- Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose to the pump to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





3. Install the power steering line at the steering gear.
- Tighten the power steering line at the gear to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the retainers and the bolts.
- Tighten the retainer bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
5. Install the power steering gear heatshield.
- Tighten the retainer bolts to 10 Nm (7 lb. lb.).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System in Power Steering.
