Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the throttle lever then from the cruise control module.
2. Ensure the cruise control cable moves in and out of the cruise control cable casing freely and smoothly.
3. Replace any sticking or binding cruise control cables. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Replacement (3.1L) or Cruise Control Cable Replacement (3.8L).
4. Replace any cruise control cable adjuster lock that does not hold under normal operating conditions. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Replacement (3.1L) or Cruise Control Cable Replacement (3.8L).
