Defroster Valve Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the cross vehicle beam.
2. Remove the defroster valve vacuum actuator.
3. Remove the mode valve vacuum actuator.
4. Remove the defroster valve link between the defroster valve and the vent valve on the RH side of the HVAC module.
5. Remove the air distribution case cover retaining screws (1).
6. Remove the air distribution case cover (2).





7. Remove the defroster valve (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Align the defroster valve assist spring to the HVAC module case.




1. Install the defroster valve (1).




2. Install the air distribution case cover (2).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the air distributor cover retaining screws (1).

Tighten
Tighten the air distributor cover screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

4. Install the defroster valve link between the defroster valve and the vent valve on the RH side of the HVAC module.
5. Install the defroster valve vacuum actuator.
6. Install the mode valve vacuum actuator.
7. Install the cross vehicle beam.
