Knee Bolster Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the left instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (LH) (Instrument Panel (IP) - Insulator Replacement - Left)Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (RH) (Instrument Panel (IP) - Insulator Replacement - Right).
2. Remove the steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement (Steering Column Opening Filler).




3. Remove the bolts from the knee bolster at the IP.




4. Remove the bolts from the knee bolster at the steering column support.
5. Remove the knee bolster from the IP.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the knee bolster to the instrument panel (IP).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts to the knee bolster at the steering column support.

Tighten the knee bolster bracket at steering column support bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




3. Install the bolts to the knee bolster at the IP.

Tighten the knee bolster bracket at IP bolts to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

4. Install the steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement (Steering Column Opening Filler).
5. Install the left IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (LH) (Instrument Panel (IP) - Insulator Replacement - Left)Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (RH) (Instrument Panel (IP) - Insulator Replacement - Right).
