Scan Tool Testing and Procedures

The diagnostic scan tool becomes part of the vehicle's electronic system when plugged into the Data Link Connector (DLC). The scan tool can perform the following functions:
- Display the MAGNASTEER data
- Display and clear any MAGNASTEER diagnostic trouble codes
- Control the MAGNASTEER components
- Perform extensive MAGNASTEER diagnosis
- Provide diagnostic testing for intermittent MAGNASTEER conditions

Each test mode has specific diagnostic capabilities which depend upon various keystrokes. The keys on the scan tool completes the following functions:
- Select operating modes.
- Perform functions within an operating mode.
- Enter Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) or model year designations.
