Shift Indicator - A/T: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
2. Pull out the shifter indicator cable clip from the square hole in the steering column at the top.

Installation Procedure

Important: Ensure the cable is NOT pinched during the installation procedure.





1. Route the shift indicator cable down from the instrument cluster.
2. Route the shift indicator cable underneath the shifter cable and along the side of the column.
3. Slide the shift indicator cable through the slot.
4. Push the connector into the T-adjuster.





5. Snap in the shift indicator cable clip into the square hole in the steering column from the top.
6. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
