Shift Interlock: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
2. Remove the center console.
3. Disconnect electrical connector from the shift lock control (2) for the Automatic Transmission (A/T).





4. Remove both ends of the A/T shift lock control from pivot points (1).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the upper clip of the A/T shift lock control onto the upper pivot point, and the lower clip onto the lower pivot point.
2. Install the center console.
3. Install the electric connector to the A/T shift lock control.
4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
