Primary Timing Chain Guide Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the two bolts attaching the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1) to the engine block.
3. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1).
4. Clean and inspect the camshaft timing drive components. Refer to Camshaft Timing Drive Components Cleaning and Inspection (65. Camshaft Timing Drive Components Cleaning and Inspection).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1) and retaining bolts.

Tighten the primary camshaft drive chain guide bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

2. Install the front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
