Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

EVAPORATOR CORE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Service and Repair
2. Remove the seal from around the heater core and evaporator tubes.
3. Remove the bolts that hold the case together.




4. Remove the upper evaporator case.
5. Remove the evaporator core.
6. Remove the evaporator case seals.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: If replacing the evaporator, add refrigerant oil to the evaporator. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities.




1. Install the evaporator.
2. Install new evaporator case seals.
3. Install the upper evaporator case.
4. Install the upper case bolts.




5. Install the seal around the heater core and evaporator tubes.
6. Install the HVAC module assembly.
