Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Discharge and recover refrigerant from the system.
3. Evaporator from the accumulator.
4. Compressor and condenser hose from the accumulator.
5. O-ring seals.
6. Electrical connectors.
7. Pressure switch.
8. Mounting bracket.
9. Accumulator.
- Install sealing caps if accumulator is not being replaced.

Install or Connect

1. Accumulator. Refer to "Refrigerant Oil Distribution", if replacing the accumulator.
2. Mounting bracket.
3. Pressure switch.
4. Electrical connections.
5. New O-ring seals. Coat O-ring seals with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
6. Compressor and condenser hose to the accumulator.
7. Evaporator to the accumulator.

Tighten

- Evaporator to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).

8. Negative battery cable.
9. Refrigerant to the system.
- Check the system for leaks.
