Replacement

REMOVAL
1. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
2. Heated oxygen sensors electrical connectors.





3. Heated oxygen sensors from catalytic converter (7).
4. Catalytic converter bolts/screws (6) at exhaust manifolds.
5. Exhaust pipe clamp (9) bolt/screw at catalytic converter.





6. Catalytic converter (7) from exhaust pipe (12).

Manual Transmission:





7. Catalytic converter hanger bolts/screw (31).
8. Catalytic converter hanger (30) from catalytic converter (7).

INSTALLATION
1. Catalytic converter (7) to catalytic converter hanger (30).
2. Catalytic converter hanger bolts/screws (31). Tighten catalytic converter hanger bolts/screws (31) to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Catalytic converter (7) to exhaust pipe (12).
4. Exhaust pipe clamp (9) bolt/screw at catalytic converter. Tighten clamp (9) bolt/screw to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).
5. Catalytic converter pipe bolts/screws (6) at exhaust manifolds.
a. Loosely install the converter pipe bolts/screws to the manifolds.
b. Tighten the bolts/screws to specifications alternating back and forth from the right to left manifold flange. Tighten 3-way catalytic converter pipe bolts/screws (6) to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
6. Heated oxygen sensors to catalytic converters. Tighten heated oxygen sensor to 42 Nm (31 ft. lbs.).
7. Heated oxygen sensors electrical connectors.
8. Lower vehicle.
