Engine Block Heater: Description and Operation

The optional engine coolant heater is used to preheat engine coolant for cold weather starting. The heating element is installed into the water jacket of the engine block for the 2.2L (VIN 4) or in the coolant pump housing for the 2.4L (VIN T).

The unit has a detachable electrical cord. If the heater fails to operate, check cord, connections and power supply before replacing the heating element.
