Oil Level Warning Indicator: Description and Operation

The Check Oil Indicator is controlled by the IPC as commanded by the PCM via serial data. The oil level is monitored by the PCM with an Oil Level Switch. When the PCM determines a low oil condition, it commands the indicator "ON". As a bulb check procedure, the PCM will command this telltale "ON" when the IPC and PCM are powered up (ignition m OFF/UNLOCK," "RUN," or "CRANK" position) and the engine is not running.
