Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Unplug the blower motor before removal. Blower motor case contact with any ground may start the fan and cause personal injury.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.

2. Remove the passenger floor hush panel.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the blower motor (1).

4. Loosen the two screws (3) enough to allow the resistor to slide off and out of the module.

5. Remove the screw (4) retaining resistor (5) to module.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the blower motor resistor (5) to the module.

- Tighten the blower motor resistor mounting screws (3 and 4) to 1.6 N.m (14 lb. in).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Connect the electrical connector (2).

3. Install the passenger floor hush panel.

4. Connect the negative battery cable.
