Scan Tool Testing and Procedures

1. Plug the scan tool into the Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. The scan tool becomes part of the vehicle's electronic system.
3. The scan tool performs the following functions:
- Display MAGNASTEER data
- Display MAGNASTEER diagnostic trouble codes
- Clear MAGNASTEER diagnostic trouble codes
- Control MAGNASTEER components
- Perform extensive MAGNASTEER diagnosis
- Provide diagnostic testing for intermittent MAGNASTEER conditions

Each test mode has specific diagnostic capabilities which depend upon various keystrokes.

The keys on the scan tool perform the following functions:
- Select operating modes
- Perform functions within an operating mode
- Enter DTC designations
- Enter model year designations
