Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

1. Relieve fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Release Procedure.

2. Remove the fuel filler cap.

3. Remove the fuel filter quick-connect fitting. Refer to Servicing Quick Connect Fittings.

4. Remove the fuel filter nut.

5. Remove the clamp bolt.

6. Remove the filter and the clamp from fuel lines.

7. Remove the clamp from filter.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the clamp to filter.

2. Install the filter and clamp to fuel lines.

3. Install the clamp bolt.

4. Install the fuel filter nut.

5. Install the fuel filter quick-connect fitting. Refer to Servicing Quick Connect Fittings.

6. Install the fuel filler cap.

7. Check for leaks.
