Lower Control Arm Replacement






Remove or Disconnect
1. Coil spring. Refer to "Coil Spring Replacement."
2. Lower ball joint. Refer to "Lower Ball Joint Replacement."





a. Support the lower control arm after the ball joint stud breaks loose.





b. Guide the lower control arm out of the opening in the splash shield.
3. Jam nuts.
4. Bolts.
5. Lower control arm.

Install or Connect
1. Lower control arm in place.
2. Bolts with the head forward.





3. New jam nuts.
- Tighten nuts with front suspension loaded.
Tighten
a. Front nut to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.).
b. Rear nut to 98 Nm (72 ft. lbs.).
4. Lower ball joint stud to the knuckle. Refer to "Lower Ball Joint Replacement."
5. Coil spring. Refer to "Coil Spring Replacement."
- Check front alignment and adjust if necessary.
