Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Accumulator And Bracket:






Remove or Disconnect

1. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Recover refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling, Adding Oil, Evacuating and Recharging Procedures".
3. Suction lines from accumulator.
4. Retaining strap mounting bolt.
5. Accumulator.

Install or Connect

1. Accumulator.
2. Retaining strap mounting bolt.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 4 N.m (36 lb. in.).

3. New O-ring seals coated with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
4. Suction lines to accumulator.

Tighten
^ Fitting to 47 N.m (35 lb. ft.).
^ Bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb. ft.).

5. Evacuate, charge and leak test system. Refer to "Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling, Adding Oil, Evacuating and Recharging Procedures".
6. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
