Expansion Valve: Service and Repair

Thermostatic Expansion Valve:









Remove or Disconnect

1. Recover refrigerant. Refer to "Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling, Adding Oil, Evacuating and Recharging Procedures".
2. Left-hand side rear quarter trim panel.
3. Line bracket at base.
4. Outer line bracket bolt to thermal expansion valve.
5. Mounting bolts to thermal expansion valve.
6. Thermal expansion valve.

Install or Connect

1. Thermal expansion valve with mounting bolts.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb. ft.).

2. Outer line bracket bolt to thermal expansion valve.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb. ft.).

3. Line bracket at base.
4. Left-hand side rear quarter trim panel.
5. Evacuate, charge and leak test system. Refer to "Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling, Adding Oil, Evacuating and Recharging Procedures".
