Starter Motor Replacement

Starter Motor Replacement:

IMPORTANT
^ This vehicle uses the PG260F1 starter motor which is serviced only as a complete unit.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Battery negative cable.
2. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
3. Electrical connections at starter.
4. Converter cover.
5. Starter motor mounting bolts/screws.
6. Starter motor from engine.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Starter motor to engine.
2. Starter motor mounting bolts/screws.
Tighten
^ Bolts/screws to 47 N.m (35 lb. ft.).
3. Converter cover.
4. Electrical connections to starter.
Tighten
^ Starter solenoid "BAT" terminal nut to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).
^ Starter solenoid "S" terminal nut to 3 N.m (27 lb. in.).
5. Lower vehicle.
6. Battery negative cable.
