Condition
Some customers may comment that they cannot disarm the Vehicle Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system by cycling a key in the ignition after unlocking a door with a key. Under normal circumstances, if the CTD system is activated, cycling the ignition key should disarm the CTD system, turn off the security indicator light in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and allow the vehicle to start.
Cause
This condition may be caused by an anomaly in the powertrain control module (PCM) software.
Correction
A revised calibration has been developed to address this condition. Technicians are to reprogram the PCM using the Service Programming System (SPS) with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the Powertrain Control Module Programming and Setup procedure in SI for more information. As always, make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
