Differential Case Assemble

Differential Case Assemble

Tools Required
^ 87 92 210 Differential Bearing Support
^ SA9120T Differential Bearing Installer

1. Assemble the differential gear assembly by installing the differential case (320) to ring gear (307) using 12 ring gear-to-case bolts (306).

Tighten the ring gear-to-case bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) plus 90 degrees.

An option for limited slip differential or open differential exists for some models. See inset. Both differential assemblies are serviced only as a complete assembly. The bolts, ring gear and tapered roller bearings are serviceable components.

2. Press the differential bearings onto the differential assembly using the SA9120T (1). Use the 87 92 210 (2) under the differential as shown.
3. To change the differential bearing races, refer to Clutch Housing Assemble and Transaxle Case Disassemble or Transaxle Case Assemble.
