Speaker Rattle and/or Audio Distortion Due to Debris On Speaker Cone

Models:
2007 Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo

A large number of speakers have been returned to the Warranty Parts Center (WPC) with debris on the speaker cone. Once the debris is removed and the speakers are tested, they have been found to perform normally. The debris may have been deposited onto the speaker cone during the vehicle assembly process. If a speaker has a rattle or distorted sound, technicians should remove any debris on the speaker cone and retest the speaker. It is not necessary to replace the speaker if debris is found on the speaker cone.
