Diagnostic Instructions

Circuit/System Description

The radio generates the audible warning through the left front speaker. The radio receives audible warning requests via GMLAN serial data from the body control module (BCM).

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, key in the ignition, open the driver door. The courtesy lamps should illuminate.

If the courtesy lamps do not illuminate, Refer to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative. Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

2. Ignition ON, radio ON, adjust the radio balance and fade to the left front speaker.

If the speaker does not operate properly, Refer to Speakers Inoperative - One or More (With Amplifier) Speakers Inoperative - One or More (Without Amplifier). Speakers Inoperative - One or More (With Amplifier) Speakers Inoperative - One or More (Without Amplifier)

3. If the speaker operates properly, replace the BCM.
