Front Steering Gear Crossmember Replacement


Removal Procedure





1.Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2.Remove the engine shield mounting bolts.

3.Remove the engine shield.





4.Remove the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts.





5.Remove the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts.

6.Remove the steering gear crossmember.

Installation Procedure





1.Install the steering gear crossmember.

Notice:Refer to Fastener Notice .

2.Install the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts.

TightenTighten the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts to 50 N �m (37 lb ft).





3.Install the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts.

TightenTighten the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts to 240 N �m (177 lb ft).





4.Install the engine shield.

5.Install the engine shield mounting bolts.

TightenTighten the engine shield mounting bolts to 20 N �m (15 lb ft).

6.Lower the vehicle.
