Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution (SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution) .
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair) or Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .




3. Remove the retaining bolts from the inflatable restraint side impact sensor.
4. Remove the sensor from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the sensor to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the retaining bolts to the inflatable restraint side impact sensor.

Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

3. Install the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair) or Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair) .
