Fuel Level Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the fuel sender assembly.
2. Push down the fuel level sensor pigtail electrical connector retainer (1) and remove the connector from the module cover.
3. Remove the fuel level sensor pigtail wires from behind the retainer (2) on the bucket.




4. Push in the fuel level sensor retainer (1) on the bucket.






Important: Note the orientation of the fuel level sensor float during removal.

5. Slide down the fuel level sensor and remove the sensor from the bucket.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the fuel level sensor to the bucket and slide the fuel level sensor up into position.




2. Ensure that the fuel level sensor is fully engaged by the retainer (1) on the bucket.




3. Install the fuel level sensor pigtail wires behind the retainer (2) on the bucket.
4. Connect the fuel level sensor pigtail electrical connector to the module cover and ensure that the retainer (1) if fully engaged.
5. Install the fuel sender assembly.
