Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the liftgate pull strap. Refer to Liftgate Pull Strap Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the right and left wedges from the liftgate.
4. Using the J 38778 release the liftgate trim panel retainers.




5. Remove the trim panel from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure




1. Align the liftgate trim panel studs to the holes in the liftgate.
2. Align the upper edge of the liftgate trim panel to the top center of the liftgate.
3. Install the upper edge of the liftgate trim panel to the top center of the liftgate.
4. Push on the liftgate trim panel in the four corners and center to secure the trim panel retainers.
5. Install the liftgate pull strap. Refer to Liftgate Pull Strap Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the right and left wedges on the liftgate.
7. Close the liftgate.
