Rear Compartment Lid Latch Release Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

Note:
When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support.

1. Support the rear compartment lid with a suitable brace.

2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement.

3. Remove the rear compartment side trim (right) panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement.

4. Remove the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement.





5. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable to rear seat back panel retaining screw (1).





6. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable to rear compartment retaining clips (1).

7. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable (2) from the rear compartment.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the rear compartment lid release cable (2) in the rear compartment.

2. Install the rear compartment lid release cable to rear compartment retaining clips (2).





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the rear compartment lid release cable to rear seat back panel retaining screw (1) and tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

4. Install the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement.

5. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References Control Module References.

6. Install the rear compartment side trim (right) panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement.

7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement.

8. Remove the suitable brace from the vehicle.
