Engine Ground Strap Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning Battery Disconnect Warning.


1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).





2. Remove the engine ground strap to cylinder head ground stud retaining nut (1).

3. Remove the engine ground strap to electronic brake control module mounting bracket retaining bolt (2).

4. Remove the engine ground strap from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the engine ground strap to the correct position.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the engine ground strap to electronic brake control module mounting bracket retaining bolt (2) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

3. Install the engine ground strap to cylinder head ground stud retaining nut (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

4. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).
