Backing Plate: Service and Repair

Rear Drum Brake Components Removal:






REMOVAL
1. Loosening the parking brake cable adjusting nut.
2. Drain the brake fluid.





3. Use a flat-tipped screwdriver or the like to open up the retainer joint, and remove the retainer.

INSTALLATION
1. Fill the master cylinder with brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 standards.
2. Bleed the brake system. Service and Repair
3. Perform parking brake lever stroke adjustment check. Testing and Inspection





4. Install the washer in the direction shown.





5. Use pliers or the like to install the retainer on the pin.
