Heater Core: Service and Repair

Heater Unit And Heater Core Replacement:






REMOVAL
For removal follow the steps in the image and note the following:

Step 9 -- Clip Removal
1. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to push inward the pin (at the center of the clip) to a depth of about 2 mm (0.08 in.).
2. Pull the clip outward to remove it.

CAUTION: Do not push the pin inward more than necessary because it may damage the grommet, or the pin may fall in, it pushed too far.

Step 10 -- Heater Unit Removal
Slide the cooling unit towards you slightly, and then remove the heater unit.

INSTALLATION
For installation reverse the steps in the image and note the following:
Step 9 -- Clip Installation
1. With the pin pulled out, insert the clip into the hole.
2. Push the pin inward until the pin's head is flush with the grommet.
