Air Injection: Testing and Inspection

Air Injection System:

NOTE: Aspirator valve not repairable. If valve is faulty or defective it must be replaced with a new valve.

1. Ensure all components are present and properly connected.
2. Listen for excessive exhaust noise under hood at idle, (aspirator valve failure indicated).
3. Check for hardening of rubber hose from valve to air cleaner, (aspirator valve failure indicated).
4. Check aspirator tube catalyst assembly joint and hose connections at aspirator valve and air cleaner for leakage.
- If aspirator tube catalyst joint is leaking, tighten to 40 ft-lbs (54 Nm).
- If either hose connection is leaking and the rubber hose has not hardened, install suitable hose clamps.
