Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

The Intake Manifold Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is located in the front/side of intake manifold. If equipped with this engine, the engine cover and air cleaner housing must be removed.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable at battery.
2. In This Engine Only:
a. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover in Body.
b. Remove air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Housing Removal/installation.
3. Disconnect electrical connector at sensor.
4. Remove sensor from intake manifold.

INSTALLATION
1. Install sensor to intake manifold. Tighten to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
2. Install electrical connector.
3. In This Engine Only:
a. Install engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover in Body.
b. Install air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Housing Removal/installation.
4. Connect negative battery cable to battery.
