Thermal Vacuum Valve: Service and Repair

1. Drain coolant from radiator.
2. On V8 engines, remove air cleaner assembly. Then remove coil bracket retaining screw and position coil away from EGR CTO switch.
3. Disconnect vacuum hoses from switch.
4. Using a 7/8 inch wrench, remove switch.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Add coolant to cooling system. On 6 cylinder engines, removing the temperature switch will allow air to be purged from cooling system.
